Heart of Missouri Balloon Club General Meeting, January 13, 2003

Minutes of the twenty-third HoMBC General Meeting
Held at the Columbia Public Library on Broadway at Garth, Columbia, at 7:00 p.m.
  1. Meeting called to order at 7:02 p.m.
  2. December minutes read by David Drum. Motion to approve by Vicki Palmer, seconded by Renee Graham, approved unanimously.
  3. Old Business:
    1. Renee Graham reported on VAC Christmas project and read an appreciation letter from the family we hosted.
    2. Barb Davis reported that both Embroider-It and Missouri Cotton Exchange have CDs of the HoMBC logo and are ready to handle our embroidery needs (make sure to have Embroider-It use CD labeled "Dec. 2002", just to be sure it is the correct CD).
      • It was also stated that Missouri Cotton Exchange wants us to have 6 items at a time.
      • It was also suggested that we should make an effort to group our hat orders to save on the expense.
      • David Drum brought in catalogues
  4. Treasurers Report: given by Kathy Nichols, as of 12-31-02, balance stands at $756.08, many paid dues at this meeting. Motion to approve by David Drum, seconded by Tim Graham, approved unanimously.
  5. New Business:
    1. David Drum brought new (larger) club rosters.
    2. Vote was called to approve keeping both web domains (cost to club $70) Motion to approve by Tim Graham, seconded by Vicki Palmer, approved unanimously. David will get bill to Kathy.
    3. several club members announced upcoming balloon events
      • Hudson, Wis. in Feb.
      • Montgolfier (Canada) in Aug.
      • Remax event in Dayton, Ohio in July
      • Sioux Falls, SD in June?
      • Hanibal, MO in Sept.?
      • Show-Me State Games, Columbia, MO in July
    4. Herb passed out suggestion sheet for alternative club meetings (non-business related)
      • Many ideas discussed
      • Herb also called for volunteer sign up for presentations for these alternative meetings
      • Suggestion was also made to contact Jason Jones about the open sanction he holds in the KC area
    5. Barb brought to our attention that the GAA site has a PZ locator section-questioning if we want to investigate putting this feature on our website
    6. New local PZ mentioned *** New Haven Rd. and Ben Miller Rd.*** = new PZ to watch out for.
  6. Meeting adjouned at 8:05 p.m. Moved by Kathy, seconded by Carol, approved unanimously.
