Heart of Missouri Balloon Club General Meeting, November 11, 2002


Minutes of the twenty-first HoMBC General Meeting
Held at the Columbia Public Library on Broadway at Garth, Columbia, at 7:00 p.m.
  1. Meeting called to order at 7:06 p.m.
  2. Attendance: Tucker Smith, John Sents, Kelly Shaw, Kathy Nichols, Herb Heriford, Cheri Heriford, Linda Richardson, J.R. Richardson, Fred Palmer, Deann Vance, George Thomas, Tim Graham, Barb Davis, David Drum, Dennis Sutter, Ellen Sutter, Gary Whitby.
  3. Minutes read by David Drum. Motion to approve by Tucker Smith, seconded by Tim Graham, approved unanimously.
  4. Treasurer's Report: unchanged from October. Motion to approve Herb Heriford, seconded by Fred Palmer, approved unanimously.
  5. David Drum reported that Artbroidery has quoted a price of $50 to update the logo artwork and provide two sizes in Tajima format. Motion to pay Artbroidery for artwork by Fred Palmer, seconded by Herb Heriford, approved unanimously.
  6. Barb Davis has purchased the club measuring tape previously discussed.
  7. Barb Davis is working on obtaining the new target.
  8. Renee Graham would like the balloon club to adopt a Voluntary Action Center family for the holiday season. Details followed. Everything must be done by early December. Renee is willing to head up the money/gift collection. Dennis Sutter motioned to approve request, seconded by Tucker Smith. Amendment to set amount at $150 plus donations at Montgolfier party motioned by Tucker Smith, seconded by David Drum & Deann Vance. Main motion approved unanimously.
  9. Elections
    • Nominating Commitee: Deann Vance, Kelly Shaw, Herb Heriford
    • No nominations from the floor
    • Slate approved by acclamation
  10. Dennis Sutter mentioned upcoming holiday parades and the possibility of creating a balloon float (baskets/burners on an open trailer, etc.). Contact Dennis if you are interested. Columbia: 11/24. JC: 12/7.
  11. Sheets for program and commitee volunteers put out.
  12. Motion to adjourn meeting at 7:43 p.m. by Tucker Smith, seconded by George Thomas. Approved unanimously.
  13. Remainder of AAAA power line safety video shown.
