Heart of Missouri Balloon Club General Meeting, July 8, 2002

Minutes of the seventeenth HoMBC General Meeting
Held at the Smokehouse Restaurant at 1412 Forum, Columbia, at 7:00 p.m.
  1. Meeting called to order at 7:09 pm
  2. Show-me Games Saturday Party Update
    1. Grills-Sutter, Heriford
    2. Cooler-Vance, Drum, Sutter, Heriford
    3. Food, etc.-Vance
    4. Pot luck announcement
  3. Logo Apparel
    1. S Beckman left town before being able to digitize the logo
    2. Work to create apparel will proceed
  4. Club Sanction
    1. Open sanction for NABA available $75/pilot min. 6 pilots
    2. Open sanction for BFA available $65/pilot min. 6 pilots
  5. PZs
    A balloon landed on Mary Posner's property in mid-June. Her property is a Red zone. Please respect her wishes.
  6. A new mailing list, balloon-crew@hombc.org, has been set up. Instructions on how to subscribe are on the web site. Anyone who is interested in crewing should be encouraged to subscribe. Pilots in search of crew are encouraged to send a message to the list indicating that they are looking for crew, and any details of the flight or contact information that they wish to send out.
  7. Barb Davis announced that there is a new balloon pilot in Wentzville, John Rado. John is the assistant FAA director in St. Louis. He hopes to join us for flights as his schedule permits.
  8. David Drum announced that the informal survey unanimously preferred a balloon card over a business card for representing the club. He is working on a design.
  9. Theron Riley's father Vincent was injured by a tree limb over the weekend. He is currently in Intensive Care at UMC hospital. [Vincent was beyond medical help and passed away later that week.] David Holmes' brother died recently in Texas. The balloon club extends its sympathy to both families.
  10. Marta Ferguson introduced three people interested in ballooning: Paul Rogers, Sharon Emmerichs, and Peggy Nigh. Paul and his wife Justine have joined the club!
  11. Meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm
