Minutes of the Thirteenth HoMBC General Meeting
Held at Columbia United Church of Christ - Fellowship Hall at 3201
I-70 Drive NW, Columbia, at 7:00 p.m.

Meeting called to order at 7:15 pm.

Minutes read and approved by K. Nichols/D. Vance passed unanimously.

Treasurer's report read by K. Nichols approved unanimously.

K. Nichols passed along G. Thomas' thanks for condolences after his
father's death. Also, S. Foltz's mother recently passed away on March
10th. Foltz's address is P.O. Box 563 Macon 63552

Bereavement clause motion by D. Sutter/V. Palmer approved unanimously.
Should the parent, spouse, or child of any balloon club member die,
the club will make every effort to send an appropriate condolence
gift. Condolence gift amount shall not exceed thirty dollars. In the
case of other personal losses, a card from the club shall be sent. Please
notify any member of the executive committee if you know of any members
who have recently experienced such losses.

Logo Apparel Send in your favorite vendors so that they may be solicited for quotes.

Delorme/Todd Fisher Maps Discussion of possibility of having a
topo/street/PZ map done by one of the handful of sources of custom
maps. Possibility of getting in an electronic format for Herb to
print in batches as needed. Discussion ended in agreement of need
for new master PZ map first.

Landowner relations Discussion of how we ended up with 120+
PZs in Boone county. Need for communication with PZ landowners (other
than hopeless cases) not just in hopes of downgrading PZs, but also to
raise awareness that balloons are year-round and not just during rallies.

CASA interest in ballooning CASA (the Columbia high school space
shuttle mission simulation) instructor interested in having hot-air
balloon science presented to classes, possibly in this school year but
more likely in next.

April meeting will be held at the Columbia Regional Airport where FAA
will present flight services.

Janie/Renee/Barb have not talked with Parks department (Mike Hood)
concerning designated launch field at one of the Columbia parks
(probably Stephens Lake Park)

MU Fieldhouse public outreach cold inflation ain't gonna happen
($1200 to rent and G. Sines has to rig)

FAA low altitude flight test may occur this spring. Contact BFA for information.
