Heart of Missouri Balloon Club General Meeting, February 11th, 2002

Minutes of the Twelfth HoMBC General Meeting
Held at the Watson Building on Providence at Elm, Columbia, at 7:00 p.m.
  1. Meeting called to order at 7:06 pm
  2. Minutes read and approved by T. Graham/G. Thomas
  3. Treasurer's Report read and approved by D. Drum/V. Palmer: 
    1/31 Balance   818.80

2/11 Balance   868.80
  4. Exec. Comm. meeting redux:
    Landowner relations: launch/landing certificates (also passenger certificates), improving relations, removing red zones
    1. A large side discussion of updating the PZ map. D. Sutter and G. Whitby will gather source material.
  5. A FSS visit will not be possible because of security restrictions. A FSS mock-up room is being set up as a result. A FSS visit in March might be possible.
  6. Monthly club flights on flyable Wednesdays. Mention of phone tree. Discussion of club member participation/crew rotation. Motion by T. Graham/E. Sutter and amended by V. Palmer (seconded by R. Graham) to include a social gathering afterwards. Both unanimously approved.
  7. Logoed apparel: vendor information, club paying for set-up fees. embroidered shirts, pins, tees, tees w/ logo on front and balloons on back, caps, patches, printed material. M. Ferguson and B. Davis will make some calls. H. Heriford would like option to consider printing.
  8. Budget Will balloon club sponsor cookout at Show-Me state games? V. Palmer motioned to sponsor club party Sat. (Fri.) night of Show-Me State Games and spend up to $200. Seconded D. Sutter/T. Graham passed unanimously. Prizes for club flights/club competition paraphenalia? Club newsletter? Newsletter possible, only a few members not on email; could be emailed or put on website. Club flight prizes: donated items/travelling trophy. Club competition sanction? D. Drum motioned/D. Sutter seconded to have Norah acquire a BFA competition sanction for the club. Safety seminar? Get info.
  9. T. Graham will be collecting event tees to send to a boy's home in Springfield.
  10. Safety Seminar info: Information from the safety seminar may appear on the web site after copyrights can be determined and reprint permission is gained.
  11. Barb Davis thanked the club for support during her surgery.
  12. New member! Kelly Shaw, new local pilot. Welcome Kelly!
  13. Meeting adjourned at 9:09 pm
