Heart of Missouri Balloon Club General Meeting, November 12th, 2001

Minutes of the Tenth HoMBC General Meeting
Held at the Eye Institute, 404 Portland, Columbia, at 7:00 p.m.
  1. Barb Davis called meeting to order at 7:01 pm.
  2. David Drum read the minutes from the October meeting. Motion by Tucker Smith to accept, seconded by Herb Heriford. Accepted unanimously.
  3. Tim Graham has not heard from Mike Wadely. Tim has not heard from Chuck Graham. Steve Foltz was speaking to his propane supplier. There is a statewide agency representing propane sellers. The push to get balloons excepted from the Agriculture regulations is now--Consolidated Energy will not refuel at next year's races.
  4. Barb Davis spoke about the club Halloween flight (details were sent to HotAir).
  5. Barb Davis mentioned the request from Rolla and another request from someone in Kansas City trying to arrange an event at a racetrack in KS. David Drum made a motion to have all the details of the request presented at a future club meeting and as a previously announced topic so that those interested in discussing can participate. Seconded by Sharon Foltz. Approved unanimously.
  6. Barb Davis requested permission to use the club name and information on ad hoc business cards she is taking to a race in Japan. Motion to approve by Herb Heriford, seconded by David Drum/Tucker Smith. Passed.
  7. Elections:
    President: Barb Davis
    Vice-President: Tim Graham
    Secretary: David Drum
    Treasurer: Karen Philp, Kathy Nichols
    President, Vice-President, Secretary elected by acclamation. Kathy Nichols elected to Treasurer's position by secret ballot.
  8. Program: Scott Wooge, BFA PAAP committee chair
    Scott handed out a PAAP application form, information on the bfamembers mailing list, the PAAP web page, and the PAAP handbook. St. Louis safety seminar 2/9/02 at Dave and Buster's I-70 at Riverport by GAA. www.gaa.cc PAAP is to motivate pilots to maintain and improve their skills.
  9. Meeting ended at 8:37 pm.
  10. Karen Webster emailed the Treasurer's report on 11/13. Absent from meeting due to sick child.
