Heart of Missouri Balloon Club General Meeting, October 18th, 2001

Minutes of the Ninth HoMBC General Meeting
Held at the Walton Building on Providence at Elm St, Columbia, at 7:00 p.m.
  1. Barb Davis called meeting to order at 7:07 p.m.
  2. David Drum read the September minutes. Accepted unanimously.
  3. Karen Webster gave Treasurer report: $771.32 in bank.

  4. Tim Graham explained new Department of Agriculture propane regulations. Discussion ensued. Renee Graham made a motion seconded by Herb Heriford to purchase the BFA propane safety booklet. Passed unanimously.
  5. Herb Heriford described current FAR restrictions around class B airspace.
  6. Renee Graham announced that logo #3 won the logo contest with 22 votes. Cheri Heriford made a motion seconded by Renee Graham to let the logo committee work with David Drum (the logo designer) to tweak the design for final acceptance. Passed unanimously.
  7. Herb Heriford described the plans for the club Halloween flight. 2:30 on November 3rd. Will include a baggie drop and a jack-o-lantern drop. Details to follow in email and on the web site.
  8. Renee Graham talked about the Fulton flight at Stack's on Oct 27th. Bring meat, buns, and a covered dish. Details to follow in email and on the web site.
  9. Barb Davis talked about an event in Rolla in late April. She will pass along contact info of the organizer.
  10. Dennis Sutter reported on nominating committee progress. All current officers except Karen Webster agreed to continue for a second term. Karen Philp and Kathy Nichols have been nominated to replace Webster. Bylaws regarding elections were read. Elections will take place in November.
  11. Tim Graham suggested sponsoring a speaker at a safety seminar. Ellen Sutter made a motion seconded by Dennis Sutter to have Tim Graham research the matter.
  12. Herb Heriford reported that Scott Wooge is willing to visit the club and talk about PAAP and CAAP.
  13. Next meeting at the Eye Institute on Keene St. on November 12th.
  14. Meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
