Heart of Missouri Balloon Club General Meeting, September 10th, 2001

Minutes of the Eighth HoMBC General Meeting
Held at the Walton Building on Providence at Elm St, Columbia, at 7:00 p.m.
  1. Barb Davis called the meeting to order at 7:07 pm.
  2. David Drum read the June and July minutes. Both were accepted unanimously.
  3. Tim Graham read the Treasurer's Report. See below. Deann Vance will be reimbursed for materials used to make a target. $35 in new member dues given to Ellen Sutter to give to Karen Webster.

  4. CAAP/PAAP designees need to be BFA members. Ballooning resumes required by BFA.
  5. Davis-logo contest-deadline extended to Sept. 10th. Submissions will be published to web site and a message will go out to the announcements list detailing web pages and voting procedure. Votes will need to be in by 5:00 pm on the 16th of October.
  6. The next business meeting will be on October 18th.
  7. HoMBC needs to find a new place to meet, because Renee Graham will be traveling extensively this winter. Barb Davis listed quite a few places, some that can take us, some that can't. Dee Thompson suggested the Eye Foundation board room. There was a side discussion of dinner meetings during the winter.
  8. Barb Davis asked for winter meeting topics. Suggestions included long jumps, weather, observing, advanced crewing techniques, flight planning, low altitude, map use, GPS use, competition tasks, flight service field trip, blue moon occurrences, drop lines, ... Please send other ideas!
  9. Tim Graham motioned for the flight committee to plan a Halloween flight.
  10. Outreach - motion to table till spring passed.
  11. Tim Graham discussed Department of Agriculture regulations that restrict refilling propane tanks.
  12. Barb Davis introduced nominating committee formation. Dennis Sutter will chair the committee. Norah Ormerod may serve and another member is being sought.
