Minutes of the second HoMBC General Meeting
Held at Boone Electric on Rangeline Dr, Columbia, at 7:00 pm.

Deon read the minutes of the first general meeting and they were accepted,
as read, by unanimous vote.

Karen gave a treasurer's report: 68 members, $340 in dues, dues for 4
members still outstanding.

Name of club: Received the following nominations for club name (number
of votes in parentheses):
- Missouri Balloon Association (11)
- Show-Me Balloon Club (9)
- Central Missouri Balloon Club (0)
- Heart of Missouri Balloon Club (15)
- Mid-Missouri Balloon Association (2)
- Boonslick Balloon Club (0)
It was decided by majority vote that the name of our balloon club shall
be "Heart of Missouri Balloon Club."

Mission Statement: Received the following nominations for mission
statement (number of votes in parentheses):
- To maintain and improve all aspects of the sport of ballooning (14).
- To maintain and improve an environment conducive to the enjoyment
of ballooning (2).
- To advance the safety, courtesy and enjoyment of ballooning (19).
- Promote the sport of ballooning, including safety, courtesy,
education, public service and responsible fun and competitive flying
for the members and the community at large (0).
It was decided by majority vote that the mission statement of our balloon
club shall be "To advance the safety, courtesy and enjoyment of
ballooning."

It was decided that there will be monthly meetings, with business meetings
as needed, and a minimum of one business meeting per quarter.

It was decided that meetings will be held on the second Monday of each
month. The time of the meeting will be announced, but will usually be
at 7:00 pm.

It was decided that the club's year shall be the calendar year, i.e.,
be from January 1 to December 31.

It was decided that officers shall serve one year terms with a maximum
of two consecutive years. It was suggested that the president serve on
the executive committee for one year following his or her presidency
for the sake of continuity.

It was decided that dues shall be $20 per person per year plus $5 for
each additional voting member in the same family. Criteria for who can
be a voting member as decided at the previous meeting, stand (16 years
old or older or a student pilot).

It was decided that the club get a P.O. box so that the address remains
the same even when the executive board changes.

The next meeting will be on February 12, 2001 at 7:00 pm.
