Because Sid is sick of the whole mess. As a result of reports filed with the
FAA he has had over a dozen calls by the FAA. He doesn't appreciate this and
has probably told MichaeI as much. I sent out the information that I did to
help clear this up, not to stir it up. I would be happy to send you copies of
the data on each valve.  They have the same specs and certifications.
It may be that a certified repair station has requirements that do not apply
to aircraft mechanics. Sid told me on two occasions that an aircraft mechanic
can sign them off, just as one did.  I didn't ask if a repair station can do
the same thing. I tend to believe Sid over Michael.  This whole thing is
stupid.  These valves were used for years before Rego stopped selling them to
aircraft manufacturers. They are a spring and a washer for God's sake. I also
talked with two other nearby repair stations that also are fine with these
valves being used.
