Wow! What a trip to Danville!!!

I do believe that our club was very well represented at the Danville race.
Pat Fogue walked away with some pretty good money for buying more formula
and diapers, and all of us had a great time and saw a lot of targets. Fred
had a great drop on the last task that he'll have to tell you about. Oh, and
don't forget to ask George about the bouncing baggie trick.
Let's see if I can remember who all was there. Gary W was there. Jim W. was
there. The Riley clan was there. You knew George and Fred were there. (See
previous para)Tucker and Bryan were there. Kathy, the Fogues and the
Herifords. I probably left somebody out, if so please forgive me and send a
note to hombc to tell everyone
.
We got to fly all 4 flights while we were there, plus, They flew a media
flight thursday night and a fun flight on firday morning. They were going to
try a fun flight/race tonight but it was getting pretty windy up there when
we left at noon. That's incredible considering that they have had only 1 or 2
flights in the last 3 years. This weekend really gave that meet a shot in the
arm.

All in all our club had some real good tosses. I think every team from our
club scored at least once and some multiple times. Next year, or maybe even
before Brookfield we should get club shirts or something to identify us as a
club. I mean, 6 teams out of one club at an event is pretty impressive. We
would need to get a logo figured out first I guess but I bet Janie or Renee
know where we could get shirts designed and printed reasonably. When we find
out a price, we could post it on the website and maybe a picture and order
form. (Sorry David That may be a lot of work for you ). I would suggest a
meeting of the Ex Board to work on the logo thing etc. I think there is a
contest planned but that seems to have gone by the wayside. Maybe they could
make up something temporary for the shirts and then have a contest this
winter.

Enough serious stuff! Danville was great! It was great to see some faces we
hadn't seen for a while. I couldn't possibly remember who they all were (it
is 10:30 Sunday night after a killer weekend, after all) But It was great to
fly with the Riley's and Jim Wolters again. They have been to busy to Join us
very often but they looked great out there. I followed Pat Fogue across town
in the new Pepsi round balloon. It's cool! Lot's of friends from other places
were there too. Wish you had of been there too.

Jim W. said something about a July 3rd flight and glow at the capitol this
year. Keep your ears open for news about that.

Well, I'm going home and going to bed! It has been a long day.

Oh yes! Congratulations to Amanda and Josh on their High School Graduation
this year. Amanda graduated with honors and Josh had near perfect attendance!
(Sorry Josh, I just couldn't resist that!)

Sincerely,

Herb Heriford
