WHAT'S PLANNED?
	- Fire Extinguisher Class
	- Club Flight (weather permitting)
	- Club Dinner

FIRE EXTINGUISHER CLASS
At members' suggestion, I have arranged a class with Gale Blomenkamp of
the Boone County Fire District. This class will be held at the BCFDMO
Training Center, 5225 N Roger I Wilson Memorial Drive (between Oakland
Gravel Road and Prathersville Road west of US-63). In addition to what
one might expect from such a class, each participant will extinguish a
small fire using a common ABC fire extinguisher. (There will be a nominal
fee of $10 per participant to cover the cost of renting and refilling
the fire extinguishers. Excess funds, if any, will be deposited in the
club account. Please direct questions to me. Thanks.)

CLUB FLIGHT
Following the class, we will attempt a club flight. There is plenty
of parking for chase vehicles at the Training Center, and with easy
access to US-63, everyone should be able to reach a launch area quickly.

CLUB DINNER
Depending on the preference of attendees, we'll have a club picnic,
potluck, or dine out after the flight. Please indicate your preference
when you RSVP.

VOLUNTEER(S) NEEDED
Chief Blomenkamp is interested in learning about balloon fire issues.
I spoke with him about inflation fans and propane fuel systems. He's
interested in seeing both, and maybe taking some pictures to have on
file for BCFD awareness. So even if it isn't flyable, I hope a pilot
would be willing to bring his or her system out to demonstrate. I am
also looking for a pilot to volunteer to fly him and discuss in-flight
fires and safety. Please reply directly to me.
