My vote is for picnic and the weather thing I look
at says 10-15 MPH winds and no rain.

Subject: May Meeting
It's supposed to be windy all wwekend but MAYBE
(accorcing to ADDS) the winds will be doable Monday night! May have to wait
til 7 to launch but that will give us time to fly a bit, find a landing spot
and still get time to get back and cover some important topics. If we meet at
6:00 we could take care of business while we wait for the wind to back off if
nessacary.
There is a "retirement home" on Nifong (I think the old
Nifong but I'm not sure) that has asked Gary Sines to bring a few balloons
over for a launch that evening. I'm unsure exactly why or which Home it is (A
little help here would be beneficial, Gary) but it would be a fun thing to
attempt for as many as can fit into their yard. It's always fun to see kids
faces around a balloon even if the kids are 90 years old! The long range
forcast calls for winds from the SE so that would work fairly well from there
it seems.
Lets plan on meeting at AC at 6:00 and work it out from
there. I think SS is about 8:10 or so. Would you like to bring picnic stuff
and meet at a park afterward or would an eating establishment that would be
air conditioned be better? If the bugs don't carry us off the park may give us
more freedom to discuss the price of gas, drink cheap adult beverages and
shout at passing motorists but I leave that choice up to
you!
Sincerely,
Herb
p.s. feel free to ask about Eldon's
unpublished story of last Monday night, too.
