Fulton Nov. 8 and Columbia Nov. 10

5:13 and the sun is history...as is the Autumn Kiss balloon event held in Fulton, MO today. Many would look at the results of this event and consider it a complete and utter disaster. A lack of anything of any perceptable value. A failure to complete even one flight after many days of planning and contacting and meetings and filling out forms, etc. Many would. But not this optimist!

Of course, I personally wasn't involved with all of that planning so it was minimal sacrifice on my part but the committee that willingly volunteered to put this event together did put in many hours. And what is so good about that?

They Did It! All arrangements were made although not without a few educational screw-ups. All people were contacted that needed to be. (At least 3 people even came down from St Louis to watch the flags flutter in the marginal breeze.) Most legal issues were properly addressed. ...

They put together a balloon event! People came! They even had their own NOTAM at FS! They could do it again if they wanted to! WOW! Good Job Committee. Would someone with a brain please fill in any name I leave out of this list.

Thank you Gary W, David, Vickie F, Deanne, Tucker, Renee, Barb...who else worked with these fine folks? Keep your notes. You may need them again some day.

If you didn't get a chance to go to Fulton We missed you. 

My schedule and Vice President both agree that we are supposed to have a meeting Monday Nov. 10. That's this monday. Check your email again and I'll tell you where and what! I'm pretty sure it's in Columbia though.
