Lagoons still live!

Alas, our attack on the lagoon had to be postponed till a later date...one year later... but no one seemed to be hesitant at all when it came to SOUP SLAYING.

A vast presentation of offerings to St. Cambell, the goddess of soup, was arrayed across the Sutters kitchen counter. Beginning with a chicken noodle, veggie creation that seemed very popular then Minestrone, sausage chili, perhaps a broc/chese, a ginger/carrot, more chili, veggie soup with a hint of stew beef...what am I missing? A sample of each seemed the only appropriate plan of attach and many of us sampled some a second time as the campaign continued.

A couple of diversionary tactics were  used to try to pull our attention away from the battle front. Dennis and Jan brought a digital photo gallery of an incredible chase and flight in Albequerque. This kept many of the combatants away from the front for several hours as the screen kept them transfixed in the family room. Others were distracted by a small saucier shaped electronic device that required extreme concentration and frequent outbursts of what sounded a great deal like laughter.

But, alas, our persistence paid off as Denis and Herb, not to be pushed around by a simple soup bowl, attacked once again around 8:30 as they noticed a break in the action. Soon the crock pots began to disapear as they were emptied or saved to savor said soup Sunday. Hard to beat left over soup, and chili only gets better when re-enlisted for a second campaign.

Although the news from the front was not all we could have hoped since no one slew the septic unit, all in all it was a memeroable event that hopefully will see successful, sequential splashes as aerostats pass the Sutters next year.

sincerely...as you can tell...

Herb, from the front lines
