  RE:  Replacement of Nominating Committee Member
       Nomination Process for New Officers


Herb Heriford has been appointed to replace Janie Thomas on the 
Nominating Committee and will serve as chairperson.  Janie was appointed 
at the October meeting and has found it necessary to resign that position.
The other two members of the committee are DeAnn Vance and Kelly Shaw.

An email address that goes directly to Herb, DeAnn and Kelly is available 
at nomcom@hombc.org.  If you are willing to serve as an officer or wish 
to recommend someone for an office, send them an email or give one of 
them a call very soon.

According to HOMBC bylaws, any member in good standing is eligible to 
serve as an officer.  The Nominating Committee will present a single 
slate (one person for each office) which will be posted on the website 
(www.hombc.org) next week and mailed to members not having email.  
Additional candidates may be nominated from the floor at the November 11 
meeting.  The person making a nomination from the floor must have written 
consent from the nominee if the nominee is not present at the November 
meeting.  The election will be held that night.  If inclement weather 
should necessitate postponement of the November meeting, the election 
will be held at the December meeting--let's hope winter doesn't start 
that early!

there for a full description of the election process and the duties of 
the officers.
