Aerostar (Raven) used to offer this as an option on their conventional and
super pressure burners. I just had a look through their Continued
Airworthiness Instructions (available on their website) and paragraph
6.2.14, Burner with Electric Blast, says "Contact the Aerostar factory for
details and instructions for the repair of this component." You could try
contacting the factory or, alternatively, I'd give Paul Stumpf a call, since
I know that he's familiar with rebuilding these units.

Another alternative to consider is going the hydraulic route. I know that
both Lindstrand and UltraMagic offer the option of an hydraulically actuated
blast valve. I presume they have sourced these parts from either the
motorcycle or bicycle industries. You could try contacting them to see if
these parts are available.

Subject: [balloon-makers] Solenoid Valve

Hello Group,

Can anyone recommend a solenoid valve to control propane to the burner? I
am pretty sure plenty of people have done this. The qualities I can think
of that it needs are low electrical power, high propane flow and
reliability. Any comments and suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks!
Marc
