Double back Scotch tape helps to set up a French fell seam in
tight places where you have problems getting it on the sewing machine.
You might need a lot of oil on the needles to keep it from gumming up. I
see no reason that a well done panel should be weaker than any other, just
because it is inside another system of seams.
Lay it on top and mark with erasable marking. Take it away
and mark the inside shadow for your seam allowance. You will have to make
slits on the concave curves. Then put the double sticky back on one
edge. Take the slip sheet off the tank in small sections as you stick the
edges together, Then roll up the fell and sew as you go.
At those slits, you may want small reinforcing patches on the
inside with tape.

Second post on a different topic...
Anyone on this list have experience with inlaying art into balloon envelopes?
Any construction descriptions or tips? Do you have to over lay and then
cut it out?
A zig-zag stitch seams to be accepted practice...do you compromise the
integrity of a panel with inlay?
Soft landings and stitchings...
