Well, I'll take this opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is David
Tanzer, and I've been a balloon pilot since 1978.  I learned to fly in
northern California and am now fortunate to be able to fly from my backyard
in the beautiful Champlain Valley, just south of Burlington, Vermont.  I
also like to fly airplanes, and have owned two nice old Beech Bonanzas in
the past (sadly, I don't presently own an airplane right now).  I owned a
Raven RX-7, which I purchased new in 1979 and finally had to retire this
year because of porosity.  I have replaced it with an Aerostar RX-8.  I have
donated my old balloon to the school my daughter attends, The Lake Champlain
Waldorf School, in Shelburne, Vermont.  My intent is to form a club
consisting of high school students, teachers and parents to build a new
envelope for this balloon and then teach these people to fly it.  So, there
in lies my interest in this list.

Holy smokes.

I put this thing online only this afternoon.  I figured it would be
just Paul, Keith and me for a while.  There are already sixteen
people signed up.  Wow.

To get things started, would everyone introduce themselves?  Give us
an idea of your interests, and the kinds of projects you are working
on, or hope to work on.

If you are new to this, please join in.  Although there are several
bona fide experts here already, there are also several people who are
pretty new.  One guy has only seen a balloon twice.  :^)
